The VLITEX fire blanket open battery modules were designed to ensure fire protection tailored to unencapsulated battery components. Open modules do not have a protective module housing, which means that the battery cells are unprotected and release significantly more energy in the event of a fire. This uncontrolled release poses an increased risk to people and surrounding technology.

Thanks to the multi-layer material combination of high-temperature-resistant silica fabric and HT glass fiber fabric, it can withstand extreme temperatures of up to 2,500 °C - even in the event of a sudden thermal runaway.

During use, the fire blanket is positioned over the open module as a precaution. Should an ignition occur, it reduces the smoke development within a very short time and effectively shields the flames. This keeps the fire localized - surrounding components and people are significantly better protected.
