Q: Does the Fire blanket retain liquids?

Yes, in principle the Fire blanket retain liquids. In a test, the ceiling was filled with water and it was shown that the water was reliably retained. Acids or alkalis also have no negative impact on the resistance of Fire blanket. This property makes it versatile, not only for firefighting, but also as protection against hazardous liquids.

Q: How often can the fire blanket be used?

The reusability of the fire blanket depends on the fire load , i.e. how long and at what temperatures it was used. It should also be checked whether the ceiling has been mechanically damaged, for example by cracks or holes . We have noticed that the silicone coating sometimes reacts with white spots . This is a normal reaction in which the coating burns into the glass fibers - the functionality of the ceiling remains unaffected. Even with cracks or holes up to the size of a handball, the effectiveness of the ceiling is not negatively affected.

Q: Does the fire blanket need to be maintained or does it have an expiry date?

No, a new fire blanket is weatherproof , maintenance-free and has no expiry date . The same applies to used ceilings . However, it should be noted that the ceiling may be contaminated with toxic fire residues after use. It should therefore be stored in such a way that there is no adverse effect on the environment.
